Residents of Glamis Estate were told recently by EeH’ Director of Housing John Henderson that EeH is having another think about promises made to provide a permanent new local housing office on Glamis Estate.
EeH’ latest idea is that we should toddle along Cable Street to St Georges Estate and the new local housing office they applied for permission to build in Swedenborg Gardens in 2007.
Here is the architects’ drawing of the Swedenborg Gardens Housing Office that was granted planning permission.
Here is a recent photo of the office nearing completion
CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERENCE??
Planning enforcement officers are so busy dealing with other breaches of planning conditions on St Georges Estate that they haven’t had time to look at this one yet!
One thought on “Whatever happened to planning consents that mean something?”
I think its a bunker for the board of EEH when times get rough. What a magnificent design, Norman Foster would be proud of it! Is it built from old paladins or maybe old ships containers? And the colour? Battleship Grey, so it IS made from recycled warships. The design is so eco-friendly, NOT! Look at the bank of air-conditioning units on the right of picture, these will cost a fortune to run and they look so pretty, NOT!
So EEH, you want to close the Glamis local office and expect the elderly and frail to traipse to the other end of Cable Street, to visit that monstrosity of a portakabin. Where were the St.Georges Estate Board when the decision was made to build this against LBTH accepted plans? What happened to the promise in the formal offer document to provide a LOCAL ESTATE OFFICE?
BE WARNED, EEH WILL TRY TO BUILD ON EVERY BLADE OF GRASS AND CHOP DOWN EVERY TREE TO REACH THEIR GOAL IF WE DON’T STOP THEM!
